The refuge of the Maquis Vauban

In February 1943, as the result of an enemy attack, the few survivors of the Maquis Vauban (the Francs-Tireurs and the French Partisans) set up in the region of Ravières (Yonne), fell back into the Morvan.  From the end of December 1943 to 20 February 1944, twelve resistance fighters took refuge in this chapel where they lived in harsh conditions.
